Our projects

1

Our projects are based on kindness, bringing all members of the community together by sharing the fun of growing, harvesting and eating food.

We aim to make the villages of Pevensey, Pevensey Bay and Westham even more beautiful, providing nectar sources for bees and improved habitats for other wildlife.

We aim to fill public spaces that are currently grassed over or otherwise unused with a variety of edible planting that will look great, taste great and help the local ecology.

We want to work with schools, churches and other community groups in order to include everyone in our project and help people to understand that even small changes in our local environment can make a big difference. Everyone is welcome to join in  - from just becoming a member and receiving updates (it's free) to helping us to plant trees.

We want to support community markets, farm shops, locally produced food and other local businesses, improving our local economy and reducing the carbon footprint created by buying produce that has been grown abroad.

Why Buy Locally?

If we buy food or goods produced abroad  it creates a carbon footprint which is not good for our planet. By shopping locally we can substantially reduce our carbon footprint, and you might also actually meet the person who has grown your food or made your goods!

Environmentally Sustainable

We aim to use sustainable planting methods, trees that should outlive us, as well as perennial plants that won't need replacing every year and will be easy to propagate from - in order to spread our planting even further!
